The pocket format:

In 1972 Kodak brought the pocket format to the market as a successor of the instamatic format. Pocket format slides had a size of 13mmx17mm. This format was very successful until the 80s before demand highly decreased. Nevertheless the pocket format is still available as black and white, color and slide film.

With special frames it is possible to view pocket formats in common slide projectors. A big disadvantage was that the projector had to stand quite away from the canvas, if a wide angle lense wasn’t used. Therefore there were projectors that were developed especially for pocket format purposes.

Pocket format were also used for cinemas. Since the slides are very old now, the colors are fading and starting so shift. Faded colors are the bigger problem though: Because cameras were not so high in quality like nowadays, the pictures are not exposed very well.
