From startup to industry Leader
But let’s rewind a bit: MEDIAFIX was founded in Cologne in 2012. Thanks to our self-developed technology and competitive pricing, our first year was an instant success. Within a year, we had already digitized over 2 million media items. From then on, things only got better for MEDIAFIX.
Since 2018, we have been Germany’s market leader in the digitization of analogue images and videos. What was once a small startup with just a handful of employees has now grown into a medium-sized company. We currently employ around 110 people and have digitized more than 264 million media.

Since 2019, MEDIAFIX has been building on its international success. First, we expanded into the Austrian market, followed by the Swiss market. The Benelux countries were the first markets outside the DACH region – later, France and the United Kingdom were added to the list. And our international journey is far from over.
Market leadership by Numbers
MEDIAFIX is now active in eight countries and at collection points. Slowly but surely, we are conquering the European continent with our attractive offering. A detailed market analysis now shows that we can already call ourselves the European market leader.
In collaboration with the management consulting company OSCAR, we were able to get a clear picture of the competitive landscape in Europe. The study examined 83 providers with a total of 548 offerings from across Europe. We compared the standard metrics: number of employees, floor space, revenue and prices. The result: You can count the number of competitive companies on one hand.

- in the 2020/2021 business year, we generated approx. 9 million euros in revenue.
No other European company that digitizes analogue photos and films comes close to these figures. What’s more, our prices are significantly lower than those of our competitors.
